Mennonite Farmers Market - Every Monday and Tuesday morning, Mennonite farmers pack up their organic goods and travel by boat from the mainland to sell the fruits of their labor on Ambergris Caye. They sell everything from sugarcane to beans, bananas to pineapples.
Boca Del Rio – This beach strip of popular bars and restaurants sits at the mouth of the waterway that connects the sea on the west side of Ambergris Caye to the sea on the east side. There is also Roco del Rio Park with basketball courts, palapas, fishing piers, playgrounds and more.
Bars and Restaurants – Some of our favorite stops are Truck Stop, Rum Dog and The Dive Bar.
Secret Beach – A popular fun day trip in our area is Secret Beach. Located on the west side of the island, this lively bar and restaurant chain offers tables in the water, paddleboards, kayak rentals and more.
Note: It is important to know that there are no car rentals available on the island. Most locals on the island don't even drive cars. This helps reduce traffic and congested parking and maintain a unique culture. For the most part, every car or truck on the island is a commercial taxi or van.
